My Love of Jingles

The other day I posted a video on my Facebook account of a commercial currently running on television.  It's for EducationConnection.com.  It is just a girl singing, rapping, and dancing to explain how the website turned her life around and how you should visit it and it could do the same for you too.   I love the commercial and I honestly stop and jam to it whenever it comes on the television.  So it got me thinking and I decided to share a little bit more about my love of commercial jingles with you my loyal blog reader(s).

There are some really REALLY amazing jingles out there advertising a large variety of products.  They serve such a great purpose, getting a product stuck in your head.  You remember that product, and then when you need it, that song pops into your head and you know exactly what you want.  For instance if you need to freshen your breath and you are looking at a large selection of mints at a store, this little jingle may pop into your head:

This jingle also comes in handy when you are running late and something catastrophic happens to slow you down, like as we saw here when some executive level jag-off blocks you in on your way to the denim vest sale of the century.  You may also use it when you sit on a park bench only to find out that the paint was wet and your suit now has white paint on it.  This jingle helps you find a product that gives you fresher breath and makes you smarter and an amazing problem solver.

Some jingles are so amazing, I listen to them as if they were regular songs.  The following are on my ipod and I frequently put them on and sing along:

Who could forget this amazing jingle that swept the nation.  This song was stuck in everybody's heads for at least a full month.  This one was a ring tone on my phone for awhile and I honestly think I should go back and make it the ring tone again.  This jingle even inspired a product sold in stores that people actually purchased just to hear the jingle more!

My love of jingles may explain part of the reason why I got a marketing degree.  Maybe deep down subconsciously I wanted to be involved in the creation of these beautifully crafted songs.  I sometimes wish that there was a radio station that played only jingles like in the Sylvester Stallone cinematic masterpiece Demolition Man.  The jingles I shared today are just a small selection of some of my favorites.  I would post hundreds of youtube videos and show you all the jingles I love, but you can visit Youtube and find your favorites on your own.  Any exceptional gems I may have missed you can put the link in the comment section and share them! I'm going to post one more good one, to show even celebrities get involved in the fun (he counts as a celebrity, right?).

  3. I wonder if some of these are regional? The only one I remember ever seeing is my fave - the fish! Rockapella and I am Man are pretty cool.
